In the first giant slalom competition since her success at the Olympics in Italy, Hector had the chance to show off on home soil. But with only five gates left to pass, the Swede lost her balance and crashed.
The 33-year-old was able to get up from the safety net on her own and then received the cheers of the audience.
Hector tells SVT that there is no danger ahead of Sunday's slalom.
"My neck is a little stiff, but I feel fine. I'm a little grumpy too," she says.
Austrian Julia Scheib won the race after Camille Rast - who was leading after the first run - retired. Second place went to Paula Moltzan, USA, and third to Alice Robinson, New Zealand. The best Swede was Hilma Lövblom, who finished eleventh.
Swede Estelle Alphand crashed out in the first run.
