The US and Israeli war plans extend at least through the "Jewish holiday of Passover, about three weeks from now," according to Defrin.
The spokesperson adds that Israel is neither concerned with a "stopwatch nor a timetable," but is focused "on meeting our goals."
Israel carried out new attacks on Iran on Sunday, after announcing on Saturday that 400 attack waves had been completed since the start of the war on February 28.
Over 3,000 dead
According to the US-based activist group Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), over 3,000 people have been killed in Iran so far in the war. Just over 1,300 are civilians, including 206 children, and more than 1,100 are military personnel. The rest of the deaths are described as "uncategorized."
Iran's counterattacks against countries in the region have continued. The Italian military says a drone attack has been carried out against an air base in Kuwait, where both Italian and American forces are located. Several drones and missiles have also been fired at an area in Iraq that includes Baghdad airport and military facilities.
Nine drone and missile attacks have targeted the Victory military base at Baghdad airport, a security official confirmed to AFP. According to preliminary reports, at least five people were injured.
At least eight people were injured in Israel on Sunday in separate attacks, including several in Tel Aviv, AFP reports.
Israel has continued to attack the Iran-backed Hezbollah movement in Lebanon, including the southern suburbs of the capital, Beirut. The Health Ministry there said on Sunday morning that 14 people had been killed in two separate attacks. Four children were among the victims.
Call to evacuate
The Israeli military has urged the population to evacuate immediately in anticipation of attacks.
As the war rages, French President Emmanuel Macron has offered his country as a possible venue for peace talks between Israel and Lebanon. However, Israel has no plans to hold any such talks, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said on Sunday afternoon.
At least 826 people have been killed by Israel since the attacks on Lebanon began on March 2. Of them, 106 are children, according to the Health Ministry.
