"They are jointly suspected of murder. I don't know at this time whether they knew the person who died or not, but that is, of course, one of the parts we are looking at," says police spokesman Filip Annas.
The shooting occurred in Rosengård in Malmö around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The boy was taken to hospital by ambulance, but his life could not be saved.
The arrest of the two suspects took place "very quickly" and close to the suspected crime scene, which was outdoors, according to police.
The investigation continues with door-knocking, interrogations and trace analysis. A major effort to map the suspects' movements is being initiated, Annas says.
We will now investigate their respective roles.
