According to state-run Iranian Press TV, a senior official says Iran has presented five conditions to end the war.

The source said Iran will not let the US president dictate when the war ends.

Iran will end the war when it decides to do so and when its own conditions are met, the official said.

“Unleash hell”

President Donald Trump's press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, threatened Tehran if Iran does not agree to the US negotiation proposal:

"If Iran fails to accept the reality of the current situation, if they fail to understand that they have been defeated militarily and continue to be so, then President Trump will ensure that the blows against them are harsher than ever before," she said at a White House press briefing, adding:

President Trump is not bluffing and he is prepared to unleash hell.

Among the Iranian demands are a complete end to "aggression and assassinations," the establishment of concrete mechanisms to prevent a resumption of the war, war reparations, and support for reconstruction. Furthermore, Tehran demands an end to the war on all fronts and that the end of the war also apply to all of Iran’s allied groups in the region.

Iran also demands that its control over the Strait of Hormuz be maintained and recognized, which would then also constitute a guarantee that the other conditions are met.

Rejects negotiations

In parallel, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that messages had been exchanged through intermediaries but that no negotiations had taken place, according to CNN.

"We have no intention of negotiating," he said on Iranian state television, describing the stance as "completely principled."

He likened the fact that the US is even talking about negotiations at this stage to "admitting defeat."

The now rejected American plan was reportedly handed over to Iran by Pakistani mediators earlier this week.

According to Israeli Keshet 12, Trump has proposed a month-long ceasefire during which the parties would discuss handing over Iran's enriched uranium.
