The match in the first round of the WTT Champions tournament was over after just under 20 minutes. By then, Truls Möregårdh, who recently climbed to No. 2 in the world rankings, had beaten Anders Lind 11–6, 11–4, 13–11.
Earlier in the day, fellow Swede Anton Källberg, ranked 31st in the world, pushed world No. 5 Tomokazu Harimoto to five sets. Harimoto was too strong in the deciding set, winning it 11–5.
Möregårdh now faces China's Wen Rubio in the round of 16. Kristian Karlsson is also one of 32 players in the men's draw - he plays Taiwan's Lin Yun-Ju in the first round on Wednesday.
