Sales of the weight loss drug Mounjaro have exceeded SEK 600 million this year, according to new figures from the Swedish E-Health Agency that Läkemedelsvärlden has seen.
This means that Mounjaro is on track to become the first drug to sell for over two billion kronor per year in Sweden, the newspaper writes.
The figure can be compared with total sales of SEK 1.1 billion in 2025, despite the fact that the drug is not included in the high-cost coverage.
It is now estimated that approximately 18 percent of the population has a BMI over 30. Many have struggled with their weight for many years and have repeatedly succeeded and failed to lose weight. And now something has come along that is effective for the vast majority of people, says chief physician Ylva Trolle Lagerros to Läkemedelsvärlden.
