According to the previous plan, Trump was to visit Beijing from March 31 to April 2, but developments in the Middle East, among other things, are prompting Trump to want to move the meeting.
On Tuesday afternoon, Trump claimed at a press conference with visiting Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin that China would agree to move the meeting.
"We're working with China. They're happy with it. I'm looking forward to meeting Xi. He seems to be looking forward to meeting me, I think," Trump said at a White House press briefing.
