According to NBC News, the US has already dispatched Marines from San Diego who are traveling on an amphibious assault ship to the Middle East.

The soldiers had been scheduled to serve in Iran's vicinity, but the deployment is taking place somewhat earlier than planned, according to sources.

According to Politico, the US already has around 50,000 troops in the Middle East. The fact that the US is sending additional military personnel to Iran's vicinity has fueled speculation that the US may be planning to deploy ground forces in Iran.

“Very close to our goals”

But just hours later, Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform that he was considering possibly scaling back the military effort in the war with Iran.

This is because "we are very close to achieving our goals," he wrote, mentioning five points where the US military is close to succeeding, including preventing Iran "even coming close" to developing nuclear weapons.

The information about the reinforcement came as President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social that the NATO defense alliance consists of cowards.

"Without the US, NATO is a paper tiger! They did not want to participate in the fight to stop a nuclear-armed Iran," Trump wrote, calling the alliance "cowards" who are not assisting the US and Israel in the ongoing war.

Hormuz “simple maneuver”

He is especially angry about other countries' unwillingness to help open the Strait of Hormuz.

"A simple military maneuver that is the sole cause of high oil prices. So easy for them to do, with so little risk. Cowards, and we will remember!" the president wrote.

Hours later, he wrote on the same platform that the Strait of Hormuz must be guarded "by other countries that use it."

“If asked, we will help these countries’ efforts, but it should not be necessary,” he wrote, specifically singling out China and Japan as countries that should do the job.
