The attack was unusual because it took place in broad daylight. Debris from drones fell over the city center. However, no one was injured, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced on social media.
Three people were killed in overnight attacks in other parts of Ukraine - one in the Zaporizhia region and two more in Dnipro. The country's second-largest city, Kharkiv in the northeast, was also hit by attacks, leaving three injured.
Ukraine said that its air defenses shot down 194 Russian drones during the night and in the morning.
