When Joakim Persson scored 3-2 for Sirius midway through the first half of extra time, many probably thought that Sirius would play in the cup final for the first time in the club's history. But Hammarby captain Nahir Besara wanted otherwise, and it took penalties to decide.

In the shootout, Hammarby had better control of their nerves.

In the first half, Sirius controlled the game and took the lead through Neo Jönsson in the 22nd minute. Then Hammarby took over. Markus Karlsson equalized in the 56th minute, and shortly after Montader Madjed made it 2–1. But the drama continued. Sirius' Robbie Ure stepped up and forced the game into extra time.

In the final, Hammarby will face Mjällby, who defeated Gais in the other semi-final.
