The woman and her 1.5-year-old child visited the health center when the child was to be vaccinated.

"They met a nurse who asked if the child's father was dark-skinned," DO says.

The mother answered yes and the nurse then went on to say that the child "at least had nice hair and no afro," the DO states.

DO says it believes there were racist and offensive comments and is requesting that the company that runs the health center pay 45,000 SEK each in compensation for discrimination.

The health care company has distanced itself from the nurse's comments.
