Landeskog's absence had been unclear for a long time, but after the 3-2 victory against Washington, in which he scored his tenth goal of the season, the Swedish NHL star explained why he had not been in the lineup recently.
"I had a quick operation to fix some things," he told the Denver Post.
"I got shot in the scrotum."
According to the newspaper, it was a shot from teammate Cale Makar that struck him in the game against Dallas on March 7.
Landeskog also said he suffered a rib fracture earlier in the season.
Corrected: In a previous version, Cale Makar had the wrong last name.
