"Messages have been received through intermediaries, including Pakistan, but no direct negotiations with the US are taking place," said Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesman for Iran's Foreign Ministry, according to the pro-regime news agency Isna.
Baqaei also said Iran is ready for a ground invasion, among other things.
Israel said early Thursday that its air defenses were working to shoot down missiles fired from Iran.
