Pharmaceutical group AstraZeneca ended up 3.3 percent and traded at the top of the OMXS30 large-cap list. All engineering companies on the OMXS30 fell.
At the bottom of the list was the venture-capital company EQT, which fell 4.1 percent.
In the commodity market, the price of oil rose - a barrel of North Sea oil was trading at just over $111 at 5:30 p.m., while gold was around $4,500 per ounce.
