At the press conference, Trump did not give a timeframe for when the war might end, but answered a direct question with "soon, very soon."

He claimed Iran had "thousands and thousands of missiles" and had directed them at "other countries in the Middle East."

They would have taken over the Middle East and would have tried to destroy Israel.

Shortly before the press conference, he said in a speech to Republican politicians in Florida that the attacks will continue "until the enemy is totally and decisively defeated."

We took a little trip because we felt we had to get rid of some people.

In many ways we have already won, but we have not won enough.

He also said there that if Iran "had had" nuclear weapons, it would have used them against Israel.

They had attacked us within a week, that is 100 percent clear.

Both there and at the press conference, he said the United States is "very far" ahead of schedule on the estimated four to five weeks the war would take, according to his previous statements.

They have no navy, no communications, they have no air force.

But if Iran nevertheless tries to slow down the Gulf countries' oil exports, Iran will feel the effects.

I will not allow a terrorist regime to hold the world hostage. If Iran tries to do that, we will strike much, much harder.
