At least one person died when a building collapsed in Manado, Indonesia, as a result of the earthquake.
Dangerous tsunami waves were reported possible within 1,000 kilometers of the epicenter along the coasts of Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia, the US-based tsunami warning center, PTWC, said. The tsunami warning was lifted after about an hour.
