A fire broke out at the port after a fuel warehouse was damaged in the attack, Governor Aleksander Drozdenko announced on Telegram.
There are no reports of injuries. According to Drozdenko, around 50 Ukrainian drones were shot down during the attack late Sunday night.
The port of Primorsk, or Björkö in Swedish, is located just under 150 kilometers from St. Petersburg. It is Russia's leading Baltic Sea port for loading oil and has been linked to the so-called shadow fleet, which is used to circumvent sanctions against Russian oil exports.
According to authorities in Moscow, nearly 250 Ukrainian drones were shot down in various parts of the country last night.
